Peacock presiding. Messrs. Hurley, LaishlejySalmond,'. Swansbn, and Gpldio (secretary) werb present.' A copy of the new constitution and rules of the Australasian Association,'showing the conditions on which the recent conference in Australia had proposed that New; Zealand should rejoin"' tho Australasian Association was submitted. ?■■■ The view., of the meeting appeared •to be that, tho. conditions should he revised and Embodied in >i definite ngreement, but as Professor Hunter, who. represented the New .'• Zealand: Association at the conference, was not -present, Mho matter was postponed. ■ , . ■ On the motion' of Mr. Swanson v the Otago ■Association's application for the South- Island championship was reconsidered.. -.-The position ,was that a< gentlemau in the south had donated n;'trophy for the men's ' South Island singles championship,,on condition that it was :play«d for in Otago,'and the Otago Association,, in- consideration of this,- had .applied to be authorised to hold all future contests for the South Island singles, championship so long :as ' the conduct of the meetings was •'satisfactory, to the New Zealand Association. The committee, at. u previous .meeting, had decided to grantfthe right for one year.•-.-■. -."■ ■ .-■■•■ : Jfr.:Swanson moved:—"That in view-of the Otago Lawn/Tennis Association's application for permission to' hold the mon's.South Island singles championship, so long "as the conduct '■of •the same meets with the approval of the .New.; Zealand Association, this committee;recommends j that the request lie granted." -:This was seconded by. Mr. Salmohd.
