CIVIL BUSINESS.
A HOUSE-BUILDING CLAIM. , (Before Dr. I 'A. M'Arthnr,,S.M.) In tho case of Honry Edwin Manning, contractor, T. Alfred J. Craddock, engineer, 4 claiih for .£l9l 19s. 7d., balance alleged to be die for the erection of a house at Itoseneath, the Court gave judgment yesterday afternoon. Mr. Blair appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. Arnold for detondant, Tho magistrate said that ho would have been guided by tho Supromo Court case, Dntton v. Brcon, recently decided by Mr. Justice Sim, had there not beon several matters which distinguished that ense from the present action. It was desirable that detailed evidence should bo givon regarding the whole of tho items in dispute. In order to havo the cose disposed of, Mr. Blair made application for a non-suit 'as far as the extras (.£9O 18s.) were concerned. Judgment was then given for plaintiff for the balance of tho contract (.£lOl Is. 7d.), and a non-suit granted in rogard to the olaim for extras. No coats woro allowed.
