A new development has occurrcd in the Contral American .Republic of Nicaragua, where General Estrada leads 'an insurrection against President Zelaya, the acts of whom have caused tho States to take steps towards armed intervention. ■. Zelaya has telegraphed to President Toft announcing that ho has resigned tho Presidency, in order' to avoid harm being done to tho country and to enable it to renew friendly relations' with the United States. : Zelaya's nominee is unacceptable as his successor, cither to tho revolutionaries or to the United States.
