He,moved:,"That this meeting confirms ..the resolution of the , special meeting of committee held on November 25, namely, ■That'.the' committee: of this association 1 is of opinion; that the. time. has arrived to' form a New •■ Zealand > federation,':'and that. Dunedin and Auckland be asked to join'in establishing tho same forthwith.'" ; Mr. J. A. Tunibnll, chairman of the association, : in seconding tho resolution, informed the' meeting that Wellington and Anckland were of one mind on tho subject, and that the movement w.onld greatly benefit .the travellers oil the road in the matter of railways, steamers, hotels, etc., as the, united bodywould have more weight, and its opinions would-, he more respected. ■ • Mr. Cliambers considered tho formation' of a united association of great importance to commercial travellers, and added that it would only; b«i a question of' time when the Dunedin Association would fall into line.
