Clifton, Borlun, and Bauckc for forty'heads of water- each from Toaroha Eivof for gravitation water supply for Rimu Goldfield. The works involved in each case are set down as to cost £75,000. It is probable that the Thames deep lovele matter will bo definitely settled on.Monday. Tho various companies concerned havo indicated their willinEness to refer«the matter of compensation to be paid to the May Queen Company to tho warden, and to, abide by his decision. A resolution to that effect will be brought forward at a meeting of the Deep Levels Commit', tee to be held on Monday. This should finally settle tho matter at issue, as the May Queen Company will be quite satisfied if the course indicated' is adopted. Tho chairman of tho latter company (the Hon. E. Mitcholson), on ber ing seen .on the subject to-day, stated that the arrangement proposed is what the May Queen Company have been waiting for all along, and that their assent is certain.
