Bailey, S.M., at the Police- Court this mornini; on two charges ot breaking and entering churches, In answer to the magistrate, Brosrmlinn stated thai he ,was 17 years of age, and Jeffries said he was' 18.' -Both boys looked younger than their age-s. Tho first charge was that, on or about November 7, . they did enter Phillipstoivn Anglican Church "ivi tii intent to commit a trrme, and the second charge- was that they entered tho 80. man Cathoho Cathedral on or about Novembcr 11, and stole therefrom the 6um of £3. ' Chief : Doteo(ivo Bishop applied for a remand) as there were other, charges pending. The magistrate remanded. necused for a week, and, ordered them to bo kept separate' from other '; prisoners. The boys'were arrested on Monday: nt Molesworth Station, some 40 • iniles past. Hanmcr, by Detectives Ward and Gibson, who. only arrived in town, with, their charges last '■> night,.
