THE INTER.COI.LEGE MATCH. ■■WELLINGTON- DEFEAT WANGANUI. : ,I'ho annual cricket match between. the Wellington and Wanganui Colleges was played on the Wellington College.ground yesterday, makes the game a very easy win for Wellington. Wanganui batted first and compiled 91, only three batsmen, Price (31), Smith (13), and Abraham'(l 2) being able to da anything against the deadly bowling of Findlay. and Stainton. Tho Wellington team rcspouded with 320 in their first innings, tho top scorers being Stainton 99, Cliilds 01, Castlo 53, Beard 30, ami Ramsden 16 (not out). Stainton had hard luck in knocking at the century door, the afternoon tea adjournment coming when his score- stood at 95. On resuming, lie had to get his eye in again, and, when 99 was to his credit, he was caught in the slips. Tho calling of timo saved Wanganui from an innings defeat, Findlay and Kirker having sent threo of tho visitors to the right-about for five runs (all byes) when stumps Were, drawn.
