David, headmaster of Clifton College, was appointed headmaster of Rugby School in the place of Dr. James, who has resigned.' Mr. David was educated at Exeter School and Queen's College, Oxford. Ho was nssis-,tant-master at Bradfield School, 1890 to 1802; assistant-master at Rugby, under Dr. Percival, 1892 to 1893; junior Bursar and subsequently Dean of Queen's. College, Oxford, 1898 to 1905; and headmaster of Clifton since 1905. He was ordained in. 1894, and was examining chaplain to the Bishop of Liverpool for a period of .three; years, Rugby's new head is 42 years of age, and is a'bachelor. "I have the warmest'affection for the old place," said the Eev. A. A. David at Clifton, in discussing :his appointment to Rugby.
