The Navy League, after being reconstructed on, a more 'democratic, basis, has reportod a great increase, in , membership.: ■ L , : THE NAVY UNDER THE THREE. GEORGES. In the' recent ndval history- competition at the Wellington College, "The British Navy Under the Three Georges," was selected as the subject of the, essay, and the entries were vorj numerous. First- prizes, only, were allotted to each of.the threo grades, viz.: Sixth Form, Fifth Form, and tho combined lower forms, respectively.. .' ' ,; : . ..: ~..:■• ~ '. ■ At the Girls': College, the same subject waf chosen, and there were over 130 competitorsall Navy Leaguers—and six; prizes^were allotted. , The ■ prize-winners' names', appeared ii Saturday's issue.. : . u .:••'■ .-■; . .'■ Each of the colleges'is reputed'to be ths largest Navy League sub-branch of: its kind in the .-Uritißh, Emiiiro, their membership reaoh,ing 290 boys and 132 girb;respectively.
