He wont to tho wool'stores, but found most of the buyers too.busy.going through the wool and judging values-to spend their tim© over him. Eventually, however, a young fellow from Bradford gave Mr. Fowler the opportunity of accompanying him oh his rounds, and courteously answered his:queries; The buyer passed !the best wools and the' poorest, ovidently being after, the medium qualities. : .■'■■'.' ;, In answer to • Mr. I'owler, he explained that ■the values;on the best" wools were beyond! his margin—the after them/ > Inrogard tothoinferioriwool, ho said that most: 'of .it was lkdly : packed and; classed, and -tho buyers who would purchase it simply opened It up,, sorted<ahd' classed it,, and' offered . it; again with the certainty of making a, considerable,'profit .out of: the ; farmer's ' carekss.'*ss. For .'curiosity's-sake, Mr. iPowler paid a visit toJ.tho .stores'thb". afternoon of .tho sales-and found that tho; purchasers of some of.-the inferior/lots wore ' actually at ' work sorting arid classing them; as ; a preliminary- to having themrebakd and offered again 1 .-; .-'• :,.;..''And what, was the. net result, of : your'-in-pirits?"':';»•■ reporter asked "Mr..- Fowler.:,',' -."Well," .Mr. 'Fowler, replied, "I came to thei'< conclusion that Mr. Cahill, theWanganui Education, Board's: wool-classing, instructor, knew, all \ that was to be known, on the subject,. 1 and his advice. to .-'students was amply borne, out in every particular." .
