CRICKET.
BITTER PERSONALITIES AND BAD 1 LOSING. IBjr Teleeraph-Press ABsoclatlon-Oonyrlehtl (Reo. December 7, 9,45 p.m.) London, December 7. A meeting of captains of first-class cricket counties, held at Lords, passed a resolution expressing regret that a certain section of the press was exploiting cricket in an unworthy manner. Mr. C. B. Fry, who is a member of the Authors' Club, and who represented England in the Tests, complained of a tendency to introduce into tho cricket atmosphere bitter personal criticism. It was, he said, no disgrace to be beaten by the Australians. He had never seen such an exhibition of bad losing as was shown by a largo section of the British press. Mr. Spofforth (the ex-Australian "demon" bowler) supported Mr. Fry's protests against "running down" players. Tho Hon. F. S. Jackson (formerly AllEngland captain) said that the triangular contests of 1912 would be spectacularly attractive. He was coming to the view that, from an Imperial standpoint, the experiment should be tried.
