Compcti* tion was very dull under the hammer, high resolves hampering business, but wo effected a good clearance afterwards. At Wavcrley, on Dc« cember 3, we had & good yarding of eheep and a small entry of cattle, we made a total clearance, mostly under the hammer at full rates, A .line of 560 shorn ; four and six-tooth wethers made 10s. lid. On Friday, December 3, Mr. Newton King held bib annual bliow Eaie of, Jersey cattle at the Waiwakaiho yards. Buyers from all over the Dominio'n. were 1 attracted to the sale, tho growing conviction being; now practically a settled one that , the leading dairy herds, principally the Jerseys, are to be found in this provinco. The entry, whilst principally made up of locally-owned stock, included some from wellknown, breeders, in other parts of.the Dominion' There was spirited competition', and the prices showed a high; average.
