■The -monthly -sitting of the Lower Hutt Magistrate's-Court took, place .yesterday. Dr. A,.AT'Arthur,-S.M;, presiding, and having- with him on: the Bench Messrs. Peterkm, Wilkin, and Cudby, • J.P.'s. A hflrso trainer named John Armstrong was charged with having been round, on licensed premises, :to wit the Bellevub Hotel, 1 on Saturday mornmg. Accused, who was represented* by Mr. G. Toogood, did not deny/:having; bien -found.'on the. premises, but contended, that he had gone to see a friend who' was-a'.'boarder-,there. ../He' dfcriied: that he had obtained any liquor: Ho was convicted and:fined 405., and costs 75., in default seven days' imprisonment...
