(From "bur Special, Correspondents.) levin: Mr. Tom .Brown, of levin,,has been appointed secretary, ol the 1/Gvin Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., in succession to Mr. >-T. A. B. Hodson, who recently' in consequence of the large demands on his time by his firm. The nen; secretary" commences his dirties on January 1, 1910. There were 34 applications for the posiiion. Madame Nordica, the lecturer on. Spiritualism, is expected to give addresses in Levin shortly. . *

A concert organised by the Roman Catholic community was given in the Levin Town Hall on Friday evening, in aid of the funds of , the Oteki Hospital. : ' The attendance was not large, but the programme was of exceptional merk. Songs were sung by Misses Carmont and Stansell, Mm. Gardener, Messrs. D. Anderson, M'Both, J. G. Hankrns, and.Master. Mr. Robertson (Wellington) contributed some comic items; and a quartet was rendered by Mrs. Gardener, Miss Sutherland, ■ Messrs. Winchester and Burns. Miss : Simpson gave, two flute, solos, Miss Esraa Levestam a pianoforte' selection, Miss Hall a military andekirt dance, and Mr. Drake a sailoT'shornpipe.'
