':' WAIOTABX TIELD. / , 'Auckland, December 1. ; During November tho Waiotahi, Goldmining Company, Thames, crushed and treated 138 tons of Quartz and 61b. of picked stone, for a return of 3540z. 18dwt.\ of gold,; valued at £949' Is. 6d. This represents a decrease, compared with the return lor .the jjreviouß month, when 163 tons of 'pre and 321b. of. picked stone, yielded, £1054 ilOs. 6d. During November, howover, work, in tho mine was suspended, for four days on account of the Government inspection of boilers, etc., this accounting for the Bmaller tonnage treated. ' The average of the present return works ont at about £6 17s. per ton, as against £0 10s, for October. . '■■ ~; ■PUMPING OIJT..\ Christchurch, December 1. It appears that tho Boss Goldlield Company's shaft has been unwatcred to a depth of 300 feet, leaving only 90 feet of water to be lifted before the bottom of tho shart is rbaehed.- The pumping becomes moro effective as lower levels are reached, and no difficulty is anticipated in completely clearing the shaft of water.
