' £ preliminary meeting. of- those interested In the extension of thei railway to Evans Bay was hold last evening. The, Hon. T. W. Hjslop wos/oted to the chair, and the following platform was' adopted:— (1) To devise a scheme for the- extension of the railway to Evans Bay. (2) To advocate the improvement of rail-way facilities at Te Aro by the establishment thero' of a goods 'station. , , ' It was decided that a deputation wait upon tho Wellington City Council and tho Wellington Harbour Board with a view to soliciting , their support to the scheme.
