KARORI TRAMWAYS.
Sir,'—There has been eoiao discussion lately as to t!ie best method of shortening the present tramway service between Karori and the city. '■'To any'unbiased person, whose sole idea on. the subject is to secure for residents of the borough the quickest, shortest, cheapest, and most pleasant connection with the city, there is. surely only one route, that across Kelburne, to connect with the cable' tram. Some Karori Councillors state that "what is required'is a short cut from, the Botanical hardens, or lower." This, however, would not be a improvement on the present-route;-and one 'via Aro Street- would be' preferable! ,It seems'a great pity to-sacrifice the Kelburne _rpute .(obviously; the, vtest) simply, bei" cause .the Karori Borough Council -would have something under ..a mile of "dead" line (that between Botanical Gardens and . tunnel) on their hands. If anything is to be sacrificed, let it be the continuation from the terminus.- which will benefitabout twentv people.—l am, etc., . - ' > "A MILE PAST THE TEB&INUS.".
