IRISH LITERARY SOCIETY.
The committee entrusted with the formation of an - Irish ■ Literary Society in Wellington, ljdd a successful'meeting last evening at the secretary's'-rooms,-when "twenty-eight application for. membership were handed in! It was decided that the' pbjects of the society shall be—(l) The-promotion of the study of ancient and modern Irish literature, art, and music. It was also decided. to have made a typical Irish costume, as worn over 300 years ago. It is intended to, hold a national concert at an early date, when the 'costume will be worn by a memberrdhring his performance' of an Irish national-: dance. A general 1 meeting of members' will' he"'announced shortly, vrhea pep. manent officS-bearers'will be elected. ■
