Tho success of tho: society was duo to.th,e talented lectures given , during tho year, and thanks ate .'extended'.to , those who gave addresses.; Tho average attendance at meetings had been' 33, but the committee consider the discussions r at' tho closo of the lectures.could well be improved on, Messrs. F. A. Allen and F. J. Hardwick-.were first and second respectively. in .the essay, competition' instituted by tho --Now Zealand Institute of Ac-: couutants. ■ This is the. fourth year in ' succession theorizes have been carried o£E by members of the society. The -library proved of groat Valuo to members, and thanks weiro extended to the Council of the Incorporated In-. , stitute of Accountants for their assistance in this connection. : The -balance-sheet showed cash in bank to be .£5 13s. 6d., and cash in hand J6S 10s. id. The balance; on the Library Fund account is X 33 10s.'3d. .;■ ..■..■■'..• In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, the chairman said : the society haddone good work,-.and the lectures had been excellent. .
