At a meeting of tbo Ifdbourno Trades Hall Council on Soptombor 18, Mr. Brown , moved for loavo to simpond tho etanding orders for tho purpose of moving—"That Uiis council, representing 50,000 workers, strongly resists the domination of tho Council of Churches, in Attempting to continue tho ignorant, superstj. tious worship of Sunday, and its occlusive use for church purposes." Mr. Brandt objected to the suspension of tho standing orders for nny such purpose. (Applause) Mr. Sutch said that all sorts of rohgions wero represented on the conncil. Ho hoped that such discussions would bo avoided. (Hear, hear.) The motion i for the snspeneion of the standing orders was negatived by a largo majority.
