In Germany in October Mr. Orvillo Wright biplaned to a height of "over 1200 feet," and later in the samo month Comtc do Lambert, on a Wright biplane, manoeuvred over Paris at a height of 1200 ft. If Mr. Orville Wrighfs impression of his October flight is correct, he exceeded the altitude attributed in tho cablegram to Mr. Latham and his monoplane. The day after his flight Mr. Wright said"Thero wero no official measurements taken, but I think I was up fully 1500 feet. I usually measuro my height by tho time it takes me to go up. yesterday I ascended at the rate of 150 to 175 feet a minute, and I was going about ten minutes before I readjusted tho elevating planes and begari a series of ovolutions at a stationary altitude." On the same day Mr. Wright flew with the first royal oeroplano passenger, the Crown Prince of Germany, at a height of 70ft. "The Prince," said Mr. Wright, "was certainly the happiest passenger I have ever carried. He wore a broad smile from tho moment he went up till he came down. The noise of ray propellers is : not. conducive to conversation,'Amt the Prince's radiant countenance and laughing eyes spoko volumes. , ."Lhad decided not to try to go very far up, but the Prince kept motioning'me to go higher. At one time he exclaimed gleefully:: 'Higher, higher!'.He was-as, pleased as a' boyvthrough, out." , '•: : -'x .<:':' ■''.>-'':■'''- : :; : xV. ; :'.>,' : ''-'' -
