In tho morning the sermon was addies ed chiefly to parents, tho text being "What then shall this child bo?" Tho point of view was that the answor to this question— the determination of tho character of ovory child—lay in tho hands of the parents Tho ideals which should bo cherished for the child, and the method in which thoso should bo worked out, constituted tho main burden of tho address In tho afternoon the service was devoted to the children, and an appropriate sermon was preached on "Consider the Lilies ' hat do the flowers say, the preacher asked the children, and answered They say (1) look at mo, nee you eyes, (i) God made mo and mado me beautiful; (3) God made you to bo beautiful too with tho boauty of Jesus Christ In tho evening the servico was especially for the young inon and women of tho Bible classes, and tho congregation Tho theme- was tho cenflict between David and Goliath, which was used aa a parable of the never ending conflict between the right and tho wrong, tho true and tho falso in tho human heart and tho wide ■ftorld. From the story, Dr. Gibb educed the principles on winch tho man who would gain the victory over all evil must fight David's confidence was not in himself, but in God. Tho strength of his confidence was the, result, not of a sudden and unaccustomed appeal to tho Most High, but of continued fellowship and communion with God. So must it bo also I (said tho preacher) with us if wo would ovorI como our spiritual foes, and attain to tho statnro of tho fulness of Chriat Tho Church, which had bcelx prettily decorated with flowers, was well filled in the mornIng and afternoon and, notwithstanding tho inclement weather, a \ery largo congregation assomblcd in the evening. A choir of children connooted with tho Sunday Schools led the singing, and snng sovoral hymns by thomBelvoa.
