Scott presiding, tho resolutions passed!at a previous meeting amalgamating the Bowling Green Company and'tho Bowling Club were confirmed. : Beautiful weather prevailed yesterday afternoon, when tho first of the Wednesday cricket championship matches were, begun. In . tho High School v.''Phoenix match, the latter team put on 38 and 112, High School in their first essay scoring 40. In ■. the game between City and Phoenix B, the latter ■ made 51. Tho .City, team notched 41 in the first innings, and had lost five wickets for 51 when stumps wero drawn for the day. ./ '"'-■■■■ '■ _ ' , Yesterday a rink from tho Palmerston Bowling Club journeyed to Marton to do-battle with. Hie local club for theUixnn', Ckallongo Cup, which the latter, held from last season. Uho challengers were Messrs. H. Jlowlem, A. Pickering N. Malcolm, and V- J. Tasker (s.), and the visitors succeeded in bringing the trophy back to Palmerston,, winning the game by 23 to U Tho visitors were very hospitably entertained by "the Marton bowlers. . . ; .' , ■:.
