HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.
L: The Hon. C. M. Luke (chairman),. Messrs. J. ■ Nash, J. M'Eivau, A. Smith, J. Trevor, and R. Pu Kj_ r X attended the fortiightly nieetrag, of the Wellington Hospital ' Trustees' held-' yesterday. ■ ' i The receipts for.tho past fortnight:amounted to J31426 lis. Id., (including £168 7s. 2d. brought forward), and tho expenditure to .£1426 '14s. ■Id (including a forward balance of £1268 3s. lid.). Rents amounted to ,6532 10s. 3d., wages Xl5O 16s. Dd. The total number of patients in. the hospital: on November 15 was 1 232,' as against 275 at the same timo last year, iOf these 92 were males, 87 females, 37 were occupants of the Victoria Hospital, and 16 wero undergoing treatment in the Seddon . Hospital. Tho following report of the Housed Committee . was adopted :—(l) Senior Nurse'-A..' Hulino be appointed Sister, vice Sister Mabel Williams, resigned; (2) Mr. Royd Garlick,~honorary jnasseur, to be granted two months' leave of absence, and thanked for his services,'? (3) 30 camp stools to be purchased, and tenders be invited for indenting 24 bedsteads; (4) expenditure up to ,£BO to be authorised for purchase of Christmas presents. The Leasehold Committee's report (adopted) was as. follows:—(1) .Regarding the application from Messrs. Chapman, Skerrett, Wylie, and Tnpp on behalf of the estate of the late It.. M. Grcenfiold: A. lease be given for the balance, of the present ierni for both allotments,. 11 and 16 Salamanca Road, at a rental of Jill per annum, plus cash, or an annuity, for the balance of the present term, such as.will/. produce the. reversionary value of building at expiry of the original term, such valuo to be determined by the Hospital Trustees' vahier. The lease to contain perpetual right of renewal for term of-14 years on revaluation of Aground rent. If the trustees of the .estate entertain this offer, they may deposit valuation fee, and the matter will receive immediate attention. (2) Regarding Mr. W, H. George, in. fnrther reference to ' the waste strip of land in front; of tho leasehold property occupied by him.in Salamanca Road: That the'committee 'wait on the Gity Council..'Reserves Committee with the object of: conferring with; them and Mr. .Morton with a 'view ' of;- acquiring the strip; of • land fronting the section in Snlatnancaißoad.'' (3) Regarding .application' from Mr.; S. Kirkcaldie, attorney for Mr. Robert Stains,: the* surrender of lease containing provision for sale by auction and grant > Glasgow leass at present rental (£T ,per. annum) for_ the balance of the term, and containing provision for' new valuations every ,14 years of ground rent; and that . Mr. Kirk!caldie's. application, for paying in advance of all rents for present and renewed term of lease' of August. IS, -1836, be accepted. Such pa'yinent being .subject.'to'< a discount of ,4 per cent. , The amended by-laws concerning matters of internal control, which have been under the 'consideration of a sub-committee for several months last, were adopted. 1 .
