At a meeting of the Mangatainoka Athletic Society held on Satnrday evening in .the Library Hall the president (Mr. BarreU) 1 handed in a sum of £7, the. proceeds; of a; masquerade ball given by lady-friends some time back in aid of the grandstand fund. ''With this anioont the committee will be enabled to wine out the outstanding amount due on the building 17s. 7d), and retain a oredit balance for /tamor repairs. , A handsome Scottish Battonal flag waa : donated to the society by Mr. A.-. Macpherson. It was decided to p&e a record on the hiin: ntes bearing reference to the good work done' by the ladies, and the secretary was instructed to convey the society's,thanks to them. The building in question'has not .been bnilt twelve mimths, and' the fact that it is now. debt free reflects credit, on all concerned.
