An informal gathering was hold by the Pptoiie Volunteer Fire Brigado on Thursday ovemng, when Snperintendent, Leppcr was presented by members of the brigade with a case uf pipes. Deputy-Superintendent Ryder, who rnado the presentation, referred to the popularity and respect which Mr. Lepper had always enjoyed. In replying, the superintendent, remarked that although at the recent Fire Brigades Tournament, the Potono Brigado had hot won the championship shield, yet nut of 50 prizes for competitive events they had won no fewer than 26.
