BALKAN RAILWAYS.
LANDLOCKED SERYIA. A CONNECTION WITH THE ADRIATIC. SURVEY IN HAND. IBt feletrupb.-l'resa A«ootlallon.-<lai>»rl«till (Kcc. November 11, 10.33 p.m.) I London, November 11. Engineers are surveying tho routo of a railway from Servia, tho land-locked Balkan State, to Medua, a Turkish seaport on tho Albanian Coast of tho Adriatic Sea. From Sorvia the route will run through Turkish territory to Prishtina (in tho vilayet o£ Kossovo), thenco to Skutari (ia Turkish Albania), which is 17 milee from tho eoapcrt torminus, Modua. Tho construction Of the railway will bo commenced at tho eafliost possible moment. [Prior to Austria's annexation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria pressed on Turkey a 80hcmo for extension of her railway system southwards through Novibazar. Eussia interposed with a scheme for a railway cutting this lino transversely, connectine tho Balkan system with the Adriatic. Tho reported prosooution of thta plan, in the shape of a railway from Serna to the Adriatic seaport of Medua, is probably a fruit of tho RussoItalian rapprockomont. It is also an aim of Servian policy, and probably a checkmate on Austria!] '" >
