A Labour deputation presented tp tho Canadian Prime Minister, Sn Wilfrid Launer, a series of resolutions of .the Trades and Labour Congress against a Canadian navy, and against thi> extension of militarism in Canada. Su Wilfrid Launer defended tjie Government's action. London, November 9. Tho Ottawa correspondent of "Tho Times" points out that many powerful parties in Canada prefer tho making of a direct contribution to the Admiralty to creating a local flotilla, though tho balance of opinion may not bo on their side. NEW NAVAL BASES. ADMIRALTY'S' MOVEMENT NORTHWARD. London, November 8. Tho Admiralty is establishing a now baso at Scapa Flow, in.the Orkney Islands, and secondary bases at Wick and Cromarty, seaports on the eastern Scottish coast. Numerous wireless stations are to.bo established in Scotland and on the east coast of England.
