MTarland, senior, presided over a small attendance. "'■ ' - , The committee, in its report,; said that considering the number of West-Coasters in Wellington,,it.was.to.be, regretted that the mem- , bersnip -was. so. small. '■ The sending out of circulars .and a considerable amount of advertising : to secure' the desired attend-' ance. at_ the meetings.- The annual .reunion,". in October 1908, was a huge success. Tho executive recommended the incoming officers .to take immediate stops to place. the association on a sound financial 'footing, and further suggested a canvass of the citr for tho purpose of jwcuring members. If tho ladies would take the matter in hand, the canvass, it was felt, would be a : grpat success. Other proposals by the' committee were that o. series' of: ontertainments bo held' during' the winter,.say, ! a euchro party once a month, and that arrangements be' made for a scries of lectures-,-extending over the coming year, on science, .travel, history and economies. The accounts showed a credit balance of 9s. 6d. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The_tolloninK officers. -were- elected :-Presi- .
