'-, TWO RECENT MURDERS IN CHINA. Telegrams sent in May from Roman Catholid missionaries in Yun-nan reported.the murder of two> German travellers- from. While Germany has obtained reparation for this murder, theio is no news that tho Chinese Go\ernraent has jet dono anything in compliance with tho "firm demand" presented by Britain, and supported by tho United States, for reparation for tho murder by Chinese of the uativo Indian 'surveyor, AH, Bazrah, who was attached to a scientific oxpeditaon headed by a wealthy American named Clark Ali Hawaii was killed on Juno 21 in a dispute with some country peoplo near Lan-ohau, the capital of Kan-su province. It was subsequently reported that the Viceroy of Kan-su had been dismissed. He assorts that tho mombers of tho expedition, while rescuing another comrade (Mr. Sowerby, an interpreter), attacked the Chinese, killing one and wounding two. Tho fact of tho Chinese being killed is made an argument by China for letting the matter drop, but the British Ambassador persists *
