There had been no firo innthe .building that day, and incendiarism is suspected. Some band instruments and the books m tho library wero completely destroyed. It is understood that the building was insured for J3OO in the State office, and library books for £30 in tha Now Zealand oihee. ' i At a quarter past eight last night an outbreak of fire occurred in the Paragon diningrooms in Taranaki Street, kept by Mrs. Mary Jane Barrio. The damage was confined to thd dining-room and kitchen, which were badly wrecked. The outbreak is said to have bappened through some clothes which wero being aired in front of a fare, catching abght. The simplicity of action and great effectiveness of the Mimraax Hand Fire Extinguisher have been proved by tho actual suppression if numerous fires. A. T.
