PETONE.TECHNICAL SCHOOL BOARD. '' Tho ' Petone Technical School iioai'd of •Managers held their monthly meeting last jnight, .when' there' wore present: Jfessrs. E. Mottles (in the chair), J. W. M'Ewau, D. fM'Kenzie, ■H, Fiulay, J. G. - Castle (secretary), and E. King (director). ■ . . : ; ■. : Messrs. Lynskey, itnd Abrahall waited upon the board as \a deputation for tho Petone Main, School Committee, to ask the board to reconsider tho. question of allotting ;\ mink-' ture : rifle-rnnge to be erected uear tho school. Most of the members expressed .themselves in favour ■of the proposal; but ;Mi\ Finlay, though not wishing to deprive the boysof the range, could not see his; way to vote in favour of permission being gi-ren. Thomson/ who had-asked whether ; certain, persons were being granted free, railway passes to go into Wellington for free instruction, which could be given just as well at Petone. He.'stated , that one 'of the pupils in question was a pupil,teacher. ;'who received instruction, at special teachers', classes in Wellington. .
