M'Andrew and Co, was burnt to tho ground. The building and plant wore insured in the North British Mercantile Inburanca Company for about JE3OOO. Tho secretary of the company estimates tho loss at about X/&00, of which stock is approximately valued at .£500; buildings and machinery, JKoOO, Forty nion aro thrown out 6f employment. Tho origin of the fire is not known. When it *as discovered by the manager (Mr, Qcorge M'Andrew) it had a firm hold.
