This ■ evening the final exhibition of the current week's very fine- programme of kineinatograph pictures at the Theatre Royal_ will tako place. ' To-morrow ovening an entirely new series will be presented. .
THE ROTAL PICTURES. • The second representation of the new-series of the Royal Pictures was responsible for filling His Majesty's Theatre in all parts last night.- 'The star item of the programme is Undoubtedly. "The Life of Washington." From early manhood to declining years one is shown his life in a series of tableaux, which must surely be the acme of biographic art—"The Battle at Bunker's Hill," "In Winter Quarters," "The Defeat of. Lord Cornwallis"Marriage to Margaret Custis,"" "Inaugurated as First President of theiUnited States." to the-final tableaux, which discloses _ the statue of Washington, , with representatives of the army grouped '-around saluting the American -flag. Other dramatic, comic, and scenic items form a programme which is v;ell worth seeing. . A' matinee will be held on Saturday afternoon, when "The Life of Washington," ;with drum and bugle effects, will be the 6tar item.
TE ARO SCHOOL CONCERT. Sti Peter's Hall, Ghuznee Street, was packed last night, when the operetta, "The Sleeping Beauty," was given once morei by the elder pupils at Te Aro School, and the audienoe was very [enthusiastic. It has been decided to repeat the performance at a matinee to-mor-afternoon. - . ...
