Bakewell (inspectors),rand,Messrs.- W.H.'Jackson,' A. lb: Burns,and A. 8.-Charters, (headmasters of the Masterton, Carterton, and' Grey town District High Schools respectively), on tne subject, the Education Board, at its meeting; yesterday adopted (on the. motion of' Mr. W. H. Field, M.P.), the following, recommendation by. tho soMorfinspector (Mr.-T. E. Fleming):—'• "We recommend that all the district high sbhools.'.in: the district be required to adopt a. course of agricultural: instruction as laid down in Regulation 27 (G) (school classes); ' "That in order to carry. out this programme: •(a)' ~E3£tra-'instructors he appointed for ■ agrir culture, etc.;'and woodwork;, (b) ,an instructress appointed, for .cookery and' dressmaking;'(c) where :iieceSsary; he made ;to tie •Department for a; grant for a room for .wood? :.^.'. ■ It was also resolved, on the motion, of Mr. iField, that matters of finance and detail be loft in the hands of the chairman and inspectors to deal with..
