_ Sir,—l noticed a-paragraph in Monday,morn.inj's issue of your: paper stating, that, at the •pr^inary^maptSly..meeting- I .of the Upper Hutt. .branch rbf ; .Amalgamated Society of 'Railway Serv'ants'a resolution 'was passed strongly protesting against any alteration in'that clause of'the Arbitration and,: Conciliation Act, which at-present prevents .the Enginedrivers', Firemen's, , and. Cleaners' Association from being officially recognised. Now,, sir, what I . would like you to publish is the fact that the Upper Hutt branch of the A.S.R.S. is comprised of 85 members, of the various'grades of the Service, and of . that number . only eleven were present at' 'the aforementioned meeting," and only seven (none of whom were locomotive men) voted for the resolution.—l'am, "etc;,'. LOCO.'
