ROUGH ON RONA BAY.
- Sir,—There is no doubt that: The Dominion is tho paper to write, to, and as'a regular subscriber, I would crave a small space to ask what is. the Eastbourne Borough Council about in not protesting vigorously • against the repeatedly, unfair treatment to. the residents of llona Bay generally, and Muritai in particular, meted out to them by the Ferry Company. it is bad enough on lovely summer holidays to-have the red flag flying on. our grand new wharf (built for what usefnl purpose, to be treated as it is, I know not),, to denote "no steamers -running." But it is getting really beyond a joke when people coming over by the Sunday p.m. boat to enjoy the very limited time thry are allowed on shore, that no sooner do they leave the wharf than up goes the red flag, and, returning for their ad-frtised 5.15 boat, arrive only to seo it steam merrily away from Day's Bay instead—and they are left lamenting. I have heard Eastbourne called tho Baby Borough! Perhaps it is one of those wonderful infants that aro always "so good, and never cries"—and gets little attention accordingly. Nevertheless, when the proportion of passengers daily, is far larger for Eastbourne than for Day's Bay, surelv the former are .entitled'to more consideration from the terry Company—and they should see they get it—because snch treatment as at present is so. very obvious.—l am, etc., ONE OF THEJT .
