The "Daily Chronicle" reports that, in preparation for tho Tsar's visit, the Italian authorities on Saturday morning closed the shops in'Racconigi. They also compelled the townsfolk to quit their dwellings,, and escorted them to,a field outside the town, whero they were surrounded by troops. The families of stationmasters along the railway lines from'Racconigi to Modane (on tho .French frontier j were evicted from their-homes and sent to live at hotels at State expense.- ; [':■ SOCIALIST MAYOR'S>REETTNG. In connection with the Tsar's, arrival at Racconigi, artists, engaged to perform in-the evening were forbidden to bring their dressing cases and musical portfolios into public buildings.
