(2) That it would be inexpedient to exercise such powers in altering nny of the fundamental provisions of the constitution, except under such , safeguards as would insure the fullest deliberation ,and consideration by tho wholo Church of tho province. , (3) That, in order to safeguard all rights, of propeity and to secure legal recognition of the autonomy and continuance of the identity of the Church of this province, thu S.\nod prays the General Synod (o promote such" legislation in tho New Zealand Parliament as moj best seoure such end , ! (J) That as a basis for such legislation, and to secure full evidence of the exerciee of the ppwers pf self-government, this Synod considers that it should bo authontatnel> decided b> the General 8} nod that np alteration of the fundamental clauses of the constitution or m the formularies of the Churoh herein referred to, should be <made unless such alteration be first adopted in one General Synod and then bo niiido known to and bfi formally approved by at least a majority of diocesan Sjnod«, and be afterwards finally confirmed in the meeting of the General Sjnod then next ensumtr. 15) That this Sjnod requests tho Bnhpp of the dipce<i« tp take charge of th»se resolutions, ' and to mPvo them in the next session of the General Sjnod.
