The debat< will not bo concluded in the "Chamber untii to-morrow.- ' ' The. debate proceeded uneventfully ' in . th( House until 12.40 o'clock this morning, whet it was, concluded. In the afternoon Mr Buchanan (Wairarapa) replied to statement! of the Prime Minister in regard to the pro posed purchase of the Hautotara estate, and Sir Joseph Ward replied again .to Mr Buchanan,. . The Hon. D, Buddo made a speoeli in the evening in which the questions of higJ: valuations' and departures, from the Dominior were dealt with at some length.; Mr. Baumi (Auckland East), in the course of a spiritei iddress, stated that if the Government did■ Loi Eulfil its promises in respect of the Native land Question fc for one would not be disposed tc take the'position tamely. Mr, Baume alsc spoke strongly in support-of the freehold tenure. Answers were brought down to a. large numbef of questions, and the Prime Ministei stated that an opportunity would be given later for these to be discussed. . It is expected that private members'. Bills will <be taken tolay. It is unlikely that, any local Bills will have been received- back from committees.
