A TOBACCONIST'S GRIEVANCE.
Sir,—As a constant' reader of your valuable paper, I should'bo thankful if you could see your way clear to find room for a few remarks regarding Mr. Aldrige and the Shop and Offices Act as regards peo'plo .who keep cigarettes and tobacco. Now, sir, as a hairdrcssor and tobacconist, I'maintain, without fear of contradiction, from my own personal knowledge, that these very people are and always have ignored tao law in regard to theso\particular lines. And the Chinamen • ai-o tho worst of thorn all.- It is ho who, causes more smoking among boys than all tho tobacconists put together, for the simple reason that any boy can go and buy two cigarettes for a penny. I should suggest that all people who keep tobaccos,should be made (in. fairness to those who get their living by these lines alone) to close at the same . time, as tobacconists, and also as a finale that a strict watch should bo kept, and that those found selling. our linos after eight o'clock should bo properly "dealt with.—l am, etc., . , , HAIRDRESSER. .... . f
