THE WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION; The weekly meeting of tho Wellington Football Association was held last evening. Prosent: Messrs. Holmes (chairman), Salmon, PycSmith, White, Auld, Paton, Oilier, MTieowan, and Williams. ■ , ■■'.■■'" Tho sub-committee's report with reference to a proposed Wednesday competition next season was adopted, definite action to bo deferred until tho beginning of next season. The Marist School Club wrote stating that it considered the-closing of tho Junior 3rd B Division' League had hardly been fair-to .its B team, as tho latter, still had several matcnes to play., Tho secretary pointed out that tho Rangers' Club could not bo beaton for the championship, even had all tho matches been played. A reply explaining tho position is to bo sent to the Marist School Club.. ~ ■ The Wanganui F,A. wrote claiming , the Brown Shield, on tho grounds that Wellington had refused-to play. Tho secretary stated that this was not correct, but a suitable dato could not be mutually, agreed upon. The matter is to ho referred to the N.Z.F.A., tho Wanganui F.A. to bo asked under what rule they claim the shield. . . . .;.. .. ~.-.. Tho trustees of tho Athletic Park wrote 'unclosing cheque for £12 2s. 3d., being the lssociation's share, of gate moneys in connection with use of tho Athletic Park. . v . It was decided to present-the shields, and caps to tho various winning teams at . *:he first meeting of the Management Committeo held after Mr. Holmes' returns from a visit to Auckland.. ■ •■
The committee as a' whole was appointed a Ground Committee, to act on ■various/ground matters during tho recess, and a special ground sub-committeo was sot up to form a deputation to the City Council regarding grounds.The Y.M.C.A. Club was.granted the use of, No.. 5 ground, Miramar, for a match against representatives of tho warship in port. ■■••■■•. The final of.the Junior League; Second Division Challenge Cup.between Marist Schoo.l *nd Y.M.C.A. Clubs was arranged for No. 6 ground, Miramar,; to-morrow, at 3 .p.m.. Mr. B. :L. Salmon is to act as roferco.- •;
