"A BACHELOR'S HONEYMOON." Two and a half hours' solid'ftin describes "A Bachelor's Honeymoon" in brief. Tho comedy moves along easily like a piece of well-oiled machinery;- with a smile for every revolution of the crank. Mr. Hugh Ward's acting .as the distressed' husband of a charming wife whom he dare not acknowledgo is as clever as anything 6een in' Wellington .for a long time. .His humour is -spontaneous, and is not conftnjd to tho lines he has to speak. His songs, dances, attitudes; grimaces, .and asides all proclaim Mm a comedian of remarkable talent. Miss brace Palotta deports-herself--with;a. merry abandon, which in no wise detracts from. her innate grace'and chic. 'Miss < Rose: Musgrovo is Mnry Ann, the housemaid .with the Sherlock Holmes' instinct. . Anotlier sterling, perform-, anco is the Minerva of Hiss Celia Ghiloni.'who still retains her comic opera, power to charm. -Messrs. Greig, Wykeham, and Wallace, ' and Hiss Itcufern also play • their allotted roles most acceptably. ■ THEATRE ■. ROYAL... :/. ...'.' ■ The. combination 'of instruction and amusement in the present programme which tho Fuller Company is'screening-at the Theatre Royal is excellently blended, and the patrons of the theatre. are not slow to recognise the merit, of tho faro provided. ' The films are well shown, probably-tho best of the large assortment being: "The Outcast," "A Dogs' Cemetery," "The Cocoa Industry," and "The Long ■Arm of. the Law." HIS MAJESTY'S.THEATRE. . /, , The programme which''■ has proved. so' attract tive at His Majesty's Theatre for the past week was repeated, for tho last time yesterday'evening, before a well-tilled house. The new programme to-night will consist of the Pathe Art Study, "An Old Bachelor's-Find" (dramatic), "A Child's Faith" (pathetic drama), "Vulture of Syria" (the usurer, drama), "Legend of Orpheus" (mythological story, coloured),"The Banks of the . Ganges" • (scenic, coloured); "Naval-Review on the Thames" (new series), ' The.- Silkworm" (industrial), and the- comedies, - "Farmer .Giles' Visits -London,"- "The, Adventures of. John' mine,' and "A Mistake in the Addresses."
•': ' I ■ BENGOUGH.' ' ' '.• i '■'-". ■• Bengough, the Canadian entertainer and cartoonist, provided intellectual instruction and amusement.to an appreciative audience at the' Concert Hall last evening. WELLINGTON CHORAL SOCIETY.. . Sir. Edward Elgar's masterly composition, "The, Black.Knight," which is to be produced in tho Town Hall on Friday, October 15, gives tho Wellington' Choral Society another opportunity .of proving its'prowess hi what maybe termed the dramatic field of music. Tho public know that whatever tho society undertakes is given, a true and faithful interpretation,' and 'Elgar's "Black Knight", is so .pictorial; .in ;its music that the performance will almost appear to tho listeners to be a drama. Tho box. plan
opens-at the Dresden oh . Friday .-morning. Arrangements have heen' mado : (for ■ hooking scats, both on the ground floor, as well as in tho gallery. . .. ,
