; A NEW SYSTEM OF INSPECTION. ' It transpired atthß' monthly meeting of the ■Wellington and Wairarapa Charitable Aid Board yesterday that tlio Inspector-General of Hospitals (Dr. Valintine): has under consideration ft new system of inspection and supervision of charitable aid, designed to effect'a: uniform system' (if; administering relief throughout Now Zealand. Mr. George Willis (secretary to the Charitablo Aid Board), in iumouncin;? to the meeting: that tho pressure of .liis duties would make it impossible for him to pay visits of inspection to trio district centres controlled by the board, as ho had dono tho previous year, mentioned that tile Inspector-Gen-eral had intimated that the Government .was considering ways and means of undertaking tho work for'tho whole of Now Zealand. He had been informed that tho scheme under consideration by Dr. Valintino could not bo made public, but ho Understood that it would bo of a comprehensive kind. Mr. R. C. Kirk (chairman of tho board) was glad to hear of Dr. Valintiuo's intentions in that connection, lie was thoroughly) convinced that'inspection was needed, nnd failing scmo systom ,of .Government review, such as had ,been indicated, ho would have had to: insist upoh'tho inspection being carried out by tho board.
