PREPARATIONS FORI THE OPENING. (Uy. Telecraph.—Press Association.! ChristcHurch, September 30. ' Slight showers of rain tell in Christchurch 'to-day, and the weather is still threatening, so the prospects for a fino day : for the opening :of. the.trout fishing season are not.good, targe numbers of. anglers, have left for their favourite resorts to be on the.spot'for the opening. The Sclwyn and the Mouth'of tho Ra-: kaia is the': destination of the majority, 'although. a fair number' are in readiness to commence operations on tho streams 1 nearer . town..
