THE WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. Messrs. M. Luckie (chairman), V. B. Willis,A. Moore, R. A. Wright, E. Hales, S. Brice, W. A. Parton, A. Edwards, and C. C. Green attended the first meeting of the management committee of the Wellington. Cricket Association, held in the Occidental Hotel last ovening. A, letter was'received from tho Canterbury Association Asking whether, it would bo possible for Wellington to commence tho Plnnket shield match against Auckland on Saturday,' December 25, instead of on -Monday, . December, 27, (is at ■ present proposed. Canterbury had issued a challenge to Auckland for December 20 provided they (Auckland) hold tho shield after.'the Wellington match. It was decided to write to tho Canterbury Association informing them ,that:at present tho association: could not. seo its, way. to. alter, tho existing arrangement. It was pointed out by the chairman (Mr. Luckie) that any alteration would bo inimical to the interests of the Wellington Association. Canterbury wished to mako the best arrangements for;itself without.consideration for; other associations. : . All applications for practice wickets on tho Basin .'Reserve from tno district ' clubs wero held over until next meeting of the 'association.'Tho :samo course was pursued ,in re-, .gard to applications for dressing-rooms. The annual meeting of the Wellington Boys' Cricket League was held last evening in tho Boys' department of; the Y.M.C.A., Mr. W. Walton presiding.. The- Bbys' Institute A team—going through tho season without a loss—won the junior grade cup, and the A team of the y.M.C.A.,took the senior grado cup for: tho . second -: timo in succession; The bowling and batting averages were of 'a very high order.
