Hugh Ward's' Company of Comedians, which will make its first appearance'in Wellington next Saturday night in , the popular farcical comedy, "A. Baohelor's Honeymoon," is at present playing ■to record ■ houses . in ChristclHrrch", where it has fully .repeated its triumphs of Duhedin,' Melbourne, and West Australia. "Mr. Ward.has come to Australasia tft present comedies of, the.'fi&cical order in a manner which has never been ; attempted' before,"'stated the Melbourne "Herald in a : recent issue. '.',"He believes; that laughter plays are-perhaps. as popular, or; more so., than any other. form '■ of theatrical aft,' and therefore deserve to be ,produced with an elaboration usually associated only, with spectacular, drama, musical comedy., comic opera, and; pantomime." Mr. Ward is already well'known to Wellington playgoers,'in connection with."The' Man' from' Mexico," "Mr. Hopkinson," • and other, sparkling comedies; but he.promises to excel, all these during his coming season here.
