CONVENTION AT FOXTON. The second annual convention: of No-License' workers of tho Mannwatu electorate was held at Foxton ou Thursday. •". ■ Tho following resolutions were carried-.—(1) That hygienic and scientific temperance instruction be niado a compulsory class subject in primary schools from Standard 111 upwards, and that, tho Alliance Executive be'-, urged to give early consideration to the best methods of securing temperance teaching' hi day schools until it.becomes an accepted subject' to the ordinary curriculum. (2) That this convention strongly affirms the right, of tho majority to rule tho-licensing, polls, and. tho right of Dominion. option, and pledges to do its utmost to secure the embodiment of these rights by legislation, ;and appeals to the member for the district, to use his best endeavour in Parliament for tho samo purpose, and request's' the council to forward a copy' of tho resolution: to Mr. Vvman, M.P., with the signatures of elec-tors-in support of it; also to send-a cony to tho Premier.
