I In the Legislative Assemblr, tho Treasurer, Mr. W, A. Watt, delivered the State Budget for the year ended Juno 30. He showed a surplus of £146,760, as under:. Revenue ... ... £8,427,650 Expenditure: ... ... £8,421,268 Surplus ..'. ' ... ■"- £146,760 . In the general revenue there was a deficit of £153,297, but the surplus on the railways, about £300,000, met this deficit, and left a surplus as shown above. Tho Treasurer makes tho following esti-. mates of .revenuo and expenditure for tho year:— ; : ■'.".;.'
