The Carterton Scbool Committee met on Monday night, Mr. John Brown presiding, The statement of finances showed credits as under: —General account, .£ll 9s. lid.; technical account, £1 19s:; agricultural account, 3s. lid. The committee set up to deal with the question of a minature' rifle range reported that they had not yet completed their scheme. Hγ.. A. W. Burns (headmaster) reported a roll return as follows:—Primary department, 245, average attendance 228; secondary department 31, average attendance 30. -Ho. also reported that the-board's inspectors. had visited the school during the month. An application for Carterton to he made a centre tor Civil Service Examination having been; declined,, a resolution was passed urging tho board to recommend that the request receive further consideration. ■. . .'■'.'. ■ ' Miss Monerieff. left Clareyillo .on.
